Coronavirus Update for San Francisco North and East Bay Region County Events, Regional Conferences, and Intensives
During this period of public health concerns, SCBWI has modified its cancellation/refund policy for all events as follows: If you need to cancel for health related concerns and cannot attend an event, you will be able to receive a full tuition refund so that you can stay home, take care of yourself, and prevent the spread of illness. This policy is in effect until September 1, 2020. Be well.
Everyone at SCBWI.org has been monitoring the coronavirus situation closely. The situation is dynamic and changing rapidly.
Please contact your Co-RAs, Lisa and Shells, if you would like to request a conference cancellation before a conference or event. With the the novel intensive, we will make a decision about the format on the week of March 16th so please check your emails.
If you do attend an event, please follow these health safety precautions:
Please do not attend if you are sick at all, even with a common cold.
While at the conference, please wash your hands frequently. Also, try to avoid touching your face.
We will do what we can to offer hand sanitizer at our events to supplement regular hand washing. Finding these supplies has been difficult, so note that we cannot guarantee it. Please bring your own if possible. (Hand sanitizer must have 60%+ alcohol content to be effective.)
If you are a crafty type, you might even try making your own Homemade Sanitizer. Most people agree old fashioned soap and water is just, if not more, effective.
Try to avoid shaking hands and giving hugs — let’s wave for now.
Note: According to the CDC, masks are not recommended for people who are not sick.
