Join us for our end-of-year celebration! We will be hosting our Holiday & New Release Party virtually on Saturday, December 11.

There will be critiques, giveaways, a social mingle, and a showcase of all of the new releases from our region.

Throughout the party, we will give away books,gift cards to local independent bookstores, and memberships!

Share Your New Books!

Did you release a new book during 2021?
Deadline: November 29, 2021

Do you have a new release(s) out this year? We want to promote your new books to all our members and social media followers!

Submit your 2021 book to have it featured at our Holiday & New Release Party. Your book will be featured on slides during the party and will be promoted via our social media pages. These beautiful slideshows, created by our co-ARA Nadia Salomon, will feature your photo, book covers and one or two sample illustrations from your book (if any).



– Be a current member of the SF North & East Bay region

– Have published (or will publish) a new book between Jan 1st – Dec 31st 2021

– Fill out the submission form by midnight on November 29, 2021.

– In the form – Upload a HIGH resolution image of your book cover, your headshot, your illustrator’s headshot, and publisher info.

– Open to all self-published and traditionally published author and illustrator members

Come Early for the Critique Cafe!

Join the party early to participate in our online critique cafe. You will get encouragement and advice from your fellow writers and illustrators.

Critique rooms will be organized into four main groups: PB, MG, YA, and Illustrators.

When you register, please select which room you want to participate in. You don’t need to submit your work early: Writers will read their work for critique. Illustrators will have the option to show their work.

  • PB – Up to 250 words
  • MG & YA – First page of your manuscript or 1 page synopsis
  • Illustrators – Bring 1-2 images
