Critique Fest, Potluck Lunch & Debut(ante) Ball

10 am – 12 pm  Critique Fest – Register for a Critique Group with a Published Writer or Illustrator SOLD OUT

Get feedback from peers as well as professionally published writers and illustrators. Each six-person table will be reserved for a separate category: pb, chapter book, mg, ya, nonfiction pb, nonfiction mg/ya, and illustration.

Space will be limited, so sign up fast! $15 for members, $30 non-members. Writers bring 500 words, and illustrators should bring 10 images, to participate in a small round table group. Every table will be guided by a professionally published, local SCBWI member. You will receive further instructions from our critique coordinator prior to the event.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations before 11/15/17 will be credited $10. On or After 11/15/17, no refund.

Critique Fest is hosted by our region’s Critique Group & New Member Welcome Coordinator Nanette Heffernan.

12 pm – 1 pm  Festive Feast – Please register so we have a count for food items.

Every member is welcome to join in. Yes, it’s a potluck lunch! Bring a dish big enough to share with six. Sweet or savory, you decide! SCBWI will provide drinks, paper goods and treats.

1 pm — 3 pm  The Debut(ante) Ball – Please register so we have a count for our sweet treat!

First-time debut members (published between 1/1/17 – 12/31/17) will spend five minutes each in the spotlight, sharing their brand-new books and the stories behind them – in-between there will be prizes, mingling, merriment and music!

This event is FREE to all but does require registration. There will be time for book purchases and signing, as well as plenty of social time to spend with old friends and make new ones!
