Virtual Critique Cafe:
Community Sharing and Feedback
Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021
10 a.m. to noon PST
Want to take a step toward your writing goals? Join us for a Virtual Critique Cafe to receive feedback, meet other writers, and perhaps find a writing partner. Picture book, middle grade, and young adult writers are welcome! We’ll discuss critique best practices and then break into groups by genre.
Each small group (limited to six) will be facilitated by a published author: Love Maia, author of DJ Rising; Jen Gennari, author of Muffled; and Michael Genhart, author of Accordionly: Abuelo and Opa Make Music. At the end, we will choose three names at random to win a copy of one of these books!
How It Works
Enrollment is limited to eighteen (six in each genre). Registered participants will receive information on how to submit their work by Feb. 13 to give everyone time to read and prepare feedback. MG and YA writers will send the first two pages of a manuscript (or 500 words). PB writers may submit the complete manuscript (or the first 500 words).
Registration ends at noon, Friday, Feb. 12, 2021.
A Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants a few days before.
Registration fees are non-refundable.
This event is fully booked.
