Oliver Chin: Author, Publisher, Instructor

San Francisco-based, Harvard graduate Oliver Chin has written twenty books, including the picture books: twelve Tales from the Chinese Zodiac, two Julie Black Belt books, The Asian Hall of Fame (Discovery of Anime & Manga), and recent YA graphic novel Awesome Asian Americans: 20 Stars Who Made America Amazing. Oliver’s latest book is the sequel More Awesome Asian Americans.

Called “an expert in Pacific Rim pop culture” by the San Jose Mercury News, Chin teaches kids, teens, and adults how to make comics, and shares publishing/mass media experiences with vocational/career advice.

Chin co-founded Immedium, a San Francisco publisher of children’s books and contemporary art and culture. Their titles focus on Asian American and multicultural themes.They’ve published 50+ titles including The Octonauts (which inspired the hit animated TV series on Netflix), official adaptations of TV animation Justin Time, storybooks by Disney animator David Derrick, and more.
