TOV Book Rumpus! Rescheduled to November 7!!
Sharing What Works for Equitable & Inclusive Representation in Children’s Literature
Saturday, September 19New Date: Saturday, November 7
Time: 7:00-8:00 p.m. Pacific Time
Where: Online Zoom Event
What does equitable and accurate representation look like in children’s literature? How can we tell if we’re getting it right? What are some of the pitfalls and challenges?
We invite the Tapestry of Voices community to share great examples of published books that take good care with the representation of ALL children — books that make you feel seen and heard, books that make you think about others in new ways. Bring a book that was such a good window, mirror, or sliding glass door that it gave you shivers as you read. We’ll discuss what works for representation in children’s literature, and where we as authors and illustrators see room for improvement.
Event co-hosted by Michelle Quraishi and Natasha Tripplett
FREE EVENT! All children’s book writers and illustrators from all regions are welcome. Librarians, classroom teachers, and readers of all ages also welcome!
