Join moderator Jen Gennari, author of Muffled, in conversation with our guests as we discuss managing second book pressures and deadlines, changing publishers or genres, marketing in a pandemic, and creating a splash without the debut flash.

 

About Our Speakers

Lisa Moore RaméeLisa Moore Ramée worked for several years in publishing, for the Walt Disney Company, first in comics and then with licensed publishing. A Good Kind of Trouble (2019), her first best-selling middle-grade novel is a Walter Dean Myers Honors Book and was on several best-of 2019 lists. Her second book, Something to Say (2020), earned three starred reviews and was featured in Horn Book. Mapmaker, a middle grade fantasy, is expected in 2022.

 

 

Mae RespicioMae Respicio‘s debut middle grade novel, The House that Lou Built, won an APALA Honor Award in Children’s Literature, was an NPR Best Book, and was named to many “best of” and state reading lists. Her latest books are Any Day with You (2020), and The Slime War (2021), all with Random House/Wendy Lamb Books. Mae managed a creative writing program at UCLAx for many years, and has published a wide variety of musings on parenthood.
