Lex will discuss his twenty-year career creating comics and how the marketplace has adapted and changed with the current graphic novel publishing boom.  He will cover the skills needed to create long-form graphic storytelling, from concept and execution to pitching publishers, and he will discuss the pros and cons of self-publishing vs. traditional publishing. Finally Lex will touch on the challenges of holding a day job while pursuing your passions and how his work for the Schulz Studio as an editor informs his own work.

About Alexis

Alexis E. Fajardo is a student of the classics – whether Daffy Duck or Damocles – and has created a unique blend of the two in his graphic novel series, Kid Beowulf.  When he’s not drawing comics, Lex works as Senior Editor at Charles M. Schulz Studio in Santa Rosa, California. Most recently Lex won an Eisner Award in 2018 for his work editing “Celebrating Snoopy.”
